Srinagar, Apr 27: A day after UN secretary general Ban ki Moon arrived in New Delhi on a four day visit to India, International Human rights Watchdog, Human Rights Watch (HRW) on Friday said peace cannot be restored in the Valley till force personnel involved in excesses are booked.
“There is anger in the Kashmiri people about the inaction against the force personnel involved in the human rights violations,” Director for South Asia Meenakashi Ganguly with the US based HR watchdog told KNS over phone from New Delhi.
She endorsed Chief Minister Omar Abdullah’s demand of AFSPA revocation. “If Omar wants to benefit people, why should Army become an obstacle,” she added. (KNS)
